Looking back at the EReg Annual Conference 2021

The EReg Annual Conference took place virtually on 13 and 14 October 2021. It was a very successful conference with an average of 55 participants per day. On day 1, the focus was on the topics of Environment and Sustainability and what this means for the European registration authorities. The presentations were given by speakers from Polis (European Network for Cities and Regions), DVLA (United Kingdom) and the European Commission. Following these interesting presentations, break-out sessions were held to discuss what these topics would mean for the EReg members.

Day 2 started with two speakers from the European Commission who explained the most important European developments in data, digitalisation and mobility. This was followed by two final presentations on mDL, ISO, and the latest developments. The conference ended in an interactive way – with the best practices of the EReg members and partners. Six best practices were presented by Spain, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and AAMVA/US. Various topics were covered, such as mDL, vehicle registration processes and e-services. The conference went about very smoothly, but it was a pity that the RDW was not able to organise it in The Hague this year.
