FEDRO is part of the Ministry of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC). It is responsible for motorway infrastructure, the admission of persons and vehicles to road traffic, traffic rules a. s. o. The Road Traffic Division is the major stakeholder in the process of legislation (and federal policy) concerning the above tasks (without infrastructure). It also manages five central registers: type approval register [TARGA], driving licence register [FABER], offences and sanctions register [ADMAS], vehicle and vehicle holder register [MOFIS], register on the digital tachograph [FKR]).
