Estonian Transport Administration

The Estonian Transport Administration is a competence centre uniting all modes of transport and a developer of a safe, comfortable and fast traffic environment. The administration is dedicated to shaping comprehensive mobility, so that both people and goods could move conveniently and smoothly, using various transport modes and solutions.

The Estonian Transport Administration is a legislative authority of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications. Some of the main tasks of the administration are as follows:

  • arrangement and management of conditions for safe transportation and traffic environment
  • implementation of state policies and developments covering all modes on transport, designing of smart mobility solutions
  • keeping account over vehicles registered in the Traffic Register, tachograph cards, driver’s licences and other documents provided for drivers by legislation, as well as conducting the examinations of qualification for drivers and managing technical inspection of vehicles.
